Description The WWII Luftwaffe Cuff Titles (Ärmelstreifen) as made by us are a perfect replika of those that were worn on the lower left sleeve by officers and enlisted personnel to denote elite units, commemorative campaigns, or special honors. Made frm black or blue wool or rayon bands (as the case may be), each cuff title featured machine-embroidered / hand-embroidered silver-grey or aluminum thread script, bordered by fine silver flat-wire edging. Common examples included: Hermann Göring: Worn by personnel of the elite Fallschirm-Panzer-Division Hermann Göring, in silver-grey Gothic script on black wool. Richthofen: Issued to Jagdgeschwader 2 “Richthofen”, honoring WWI ace Manfred von Richthofen, in silver-grey thread on blue-grey band. Jagdgeschwader 26 (JG 26): “Schlageter” or named cuff title for the famed Western Front fighter wing. Afrika: Campaign cuff title awarded to Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht troops serving in North Africa, white cotton embroidery on tan or khaki band. Kreta: Awarded for participation in the airborne invasion of Crete (1941), in light grey embroidery on blue-grey band. General Wever: Commemorative title for bomber units honoring General Walther Wever, in silver script on blue wool. Each cuff title measured approximately 40–45 cm (16–17.5 in) in length and 3 cm (1.2 in) in width. Worn just above the cuff seam, these were both status symbols and unit distinctions, highly prized among Luftwaffe personnel.
