This lovely antique engraved print presents six views of the Hawaiian Islands as seen from the ships of Captain James Cook. Brief captions (in French) offer interesting spellings of common toponyms like Owyhee, Mowee, and Woahoo. Engraved by Robert Benard and published in Paris in 1785 as part of the French edition of Cook’s Voyages.
