This rustic outdoor map of Pennsylvania was published in Harrisburg by the state’s Game Commission in 1952. A central image uses bright splashes of color to highlight state-owned lands (forests, game refuges, etc.). Streams of blue highlight the numerous waterways – an open invitation to anglers. Fish hatcheries, hunting & training preserves, and propagation areas are also outlined according to the legend in the upper right. The ‘stain’ of human settlements is marked with large black splotches. Attractive artwork in the surrounding border is attributed to Fred Everetty (signed and dated 1941 in the lower right).
