This fun educational toy was published in 1944 by the Advertising Service Division, Inc. of New York to promote Tip-Tip Bread (it’s the Better Bread!). Each of the 48 contiguous states are presented on either side of the volvelle (24 each), with an outer wheel that revolves to determine the information in question. Capital city, state flower, population, and state motto are presented. Oddly, South Dakota’s motto is listed as ‘I Lead’, when “Under God the People Rule” was officially adopted the year prior.
