Little Feat Hoy-Hoy!

This rare and somewhat confusing poster map of the United States was issued shortly after the breakup of the influential American rock band, Little Feat. The 1979 death of singer and guitarist Lowell George led to the group’s breakup later that year, but the compilation double-album Hoy-Hoy! was released a few years later. The piece was published to promote that record. An amusing amalgamation of American (and some European) geography incorporates places, lyrics, and venues that defined the band’s first ten years. Examples include Ma Hull’s Boarding House (an Atlanta favorite), Tonopah, Tehachapi & Tucson (from the song ‘Willin), and Strawberry Flats. Illustrated by Neon Park, an American graphic artist (born Martin Miller) who designed the majority of Little Feat’s album covers, as well as artwork for Frank Zappa, David Bowie, the Beach Boys, and numerous prominent publications. Published in 1981 by Warner Brothers Records, Inc. Labeled ‘For Promotional Use Only. Not For Sale.’ Source.
