Based on the fantasy novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher II: Assassin of Kings is a role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 in 2011. The player takes control of Geralt of Rivia as he navigates an ongoing war between the Northern Realms and the southern Kingdom of Nilfgaard. This map, designed by Karol Kowalczyk, was issued with the game and shows the theater of conflict encountered by the protagonist. One side presents the Northern Kingdoms, with an inset of the Empire of Nilfgaard. Various locations of interest are identified according to the legend at the bottom of the map. The verso, designed in a similar style by the same artist, shows the Pontar Valley.
