This patriotic presentation offers two options for the public display of national lore. One side of the sheet, titled American History in Flags, presents full-color reproductions of twenty-five flags, from those of the early Viking explorers to the familiar Stars and Bars. The opposite side shows a basic outline map of the United States, accompanied by fifteen captioned photographs of the nation’s most iconic monuments and historic sites. The poster was published by Hammond Incorporated of Maplewood, New Jersey and distributed compliments of Disabled American Veterans. Undated, but the accompanying text references the moon landing (1969), so it was likely issued sometime during the 1970s. Possibly for the Bicentennial in 1976?
