Opryland USA (later Opryland Theme Park) opened in 1972 in Nashville and was billed as “the home of American Country Music.” Various themed regions include New Orleans, Opry Plaza, Lakeside Area, Hill Country, Music of Today, and Opry Plaza. The Grand Ole Opry House (seen here under construction) took over from Ryman Auditorium to become the seat of the Opry in 1974. The stylized depiction of vegetation and water features is likely because much of the park was still under construction at the time of publication. Although it closed in 1997, the park averaged 2.5 million visitors in the late 1980s. This colorful souvenir from the park was published by Opryland U.S.A., Inc. around 1974.
